=====================================
Banseisha was established in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1882 by Benzo Yoda and several others for the purpose of land reclamation, cultivation, cattle raising, and agriculture.
In 1881, they settled in Obeliberi, Shimo-Obihiro Village (present-day Obihiro City) with 27 members, and began cultivating land.
Later, they established the Banseisha Touberi Farm in Taiki Town.
Suffering from the damage of grasshoppers and field mice and bad weather, they cleared virgin forests and attempted field cultivation and dairy farming.
He also tried various businesses, including the production of butter (Marsei butter), cheese, and canned foods, but all of them ended in failure.
Benzo Yoda devoted his life to the pioneering of Tokachi. He left behind the words, "Nothing remained of Bansho, but remained in the field of Tokachi..."
Here you can see the reconstructed house where Benzo Yoda lived from 1893 to 1915, the ruins of a well, silo, and muro, as well as the "Momijihira Poem Monument," a poem composed by Benzo.
Why don't you take a moment to reflect on the history of the place where Banseisya started reclamation of Tokachi?
HERE is the AR data of Benzo Yoda's house.
