【坂根牧場について】

坂根牧場は、大樹町で酪農業を営んで４代目になります。日高山脈の山並みが綺麗に見渡せる、自然豊かな大地です。
わたしたちはそこで、放牧酪農にこだわって牛を飼育し、出産した牛から乳を絞ることで生計をたてています。

まず、こだわっているのが牛たちのエサの土台となる土づくり。牛たちが放牧される草を喰む土は、微生物たちが活発に活動ができるように定期的に土の検査を行い、必要な栄養分だけを補う管理をしています。
土地に過剰な負担をかけることなく、環境に優しい酪農を営むことで、次の世代にも繋げていける牧場づくりを目指しています。

さらに坂根牧場では、牛が本来の行動要求を満たし、ストレスが少なく過ごすことができる環境づくりを進めています。
畜産動物が快適に過ごせる環境を整えている牧場に対する認証制度である『アニマルウェルフェア畜産認証』を取得し、牛が快適に健康的に過ごせる牧場づくりを目指しています。

"On the cheese" is a farm hotel where guests can stay on the second floor of the cheese factory of Sakane Farm, which focuses on pasture-based dairy farming.

Guests staying at the hotel can tour the farm and experience milking for free. Of course they can purchase dairy products.

About Sakane Farm

Sakane Farm is in its fourth generation of dairy farming in Taiki Town. The land is rich in nature, with a beautiful view of the Hidaka mountain range.
We make our living by raising cows on pasture and milking them after they give birth.

First of all, we are particular about the soil that forms the foundation for the cows' feed. The soil on which the cows graze is regularly inspected to ensure that microorganisms are active, and is managed to provide only the necessary nutrients.
We aim to create a dairy farm that can be passed on to the next generation by operating an environmentally friendly dairy farm without placing an excessive burden on the land.

Furthermore, at Sakane Farm, we are working to create an environment where cows can fulfill their natural behavioral needs and spend their time with less stress.
We have acquired the "Animal Welfare Livestock Production Certification," a certification system for farms that provide a comfortable environment for livestock animals, and aim to create a farm where cows can spend their time comfortably and healthily.
